FOODIE HEAVEN: The Taste of Christmas returns

London Art Scene from The Art Stop

Yes, I know... I said the 'C' word. But the fact is, Christmas is nearly here whether we're ready for it or not (so enough with the 'bah humbugs'). So it's time to think of the fun things to get involved in because pretty soon, London will be lighting its log fires, pulling out the blankets and starting its celebrations.

To kick things off, we have news of the 2012 Taste of Christmas festival (in partnership with Electrolux) which will take place from 7 - 9 December at ExCeL London.

For those who haven't experienced the feast that is Taste - you've been missing out. Held annually in the run up to the festive season, Taste is the UK's biggest food festival, which welcomes some of the world's most-experienced chefs and best-loved restaurants to share their Christmas dishes and winter recipes.

The one and only Jamie Oliver will open proceedings on Friday 7th by holding an exclusive cooking demonstration - and over the weekend he will be joined by the likes of Jean Christophe Novelli, The Baker Brothers, Michel Roux Jr, Bruno Loubet and more. The chefs will be found in the Electrolux Taste Theatre area, doing some live cooking and projecting their wealth of culinary knowledge.

There'll also be a Festive Flavours of the World feature which will showcase exciting cuisine from around the globe; over 250 market stalls stocking everything from food to gifts, and of course, there's the bar - where you can sip on a mulled wine or spiced cider and watch the world go by. The Christmas Choir will provide the entertainment.

The Electrolux Cube will also be donating the time of some of their most senior chefs for the weekend - and you'll be able to tap them up for cooking tips during their live masterclasses.

Sound tasty? Then book your tickets at http://www.tasteofchristmas.com/content/540/Ticket-Prices. Adult tickets are £18.50 if booked in advance or £23.50 on the door.
