Fulham FC's history dates back to 1879 making it the oldest of London's premier football clubs. With very humble beginnings (the club started with boys from Sunday kicking a ball around a local park) it's a far cry from the huge commercial industry which football as a whole and Fulham FC is today.
In 1896 and following its success in attracting players and followers to hte team, the club played its first match at Craven Cottage. Because of its long history with it's Craven Cottage home, Fulham has battled over many years to ensure that it remains at it's historic ground even as times and the requirements of a modern, large-capacity football ground change.
Most recently the club has announced plans to add another 4,000 seats to its ground to cater for the increasing levels of interest and attendance at its games.
