Situated in the heart of Bermondsey Village, the Fashion and Textile Museum is a well-known centre for contemporary fashion, textiles and jewellery. It was founded by British designer Zandra Rhodes and houses permanent as well as temporary exhibitions all about fashion, textile and jewellery. There is also the museum’s Academy which runs courses for fashion students as well as for other creative students or businesses.
The cutting edge building was designed by Mexican architect Ricardo Legorreta. It has now been redeveloped and it is operated by Newham College, so becoming a real hub of learning, ideas and networking in terms of the fashion and jewellery industry.
In the building there are several spaces that can be hired either separately or jointly, which makes the museum a perfect place for events such as fashion shows, product launches or business meetings and seminars.
