This performing arts centre stages plays, concerts, screenings and exhibitions.The venue’s profile has risen thanks to the local area’s redevelopment in time for the 2012 Olympics; it’s part of the ‘Theatre Square’, with Theatre Royal Stratford East and Stratford Picture House as neighbours. Stratford’s Olympic Park, the vast Westfields shopping centre and the Stratford bus station, tube and
train hub are within close proximity.
The auditorium seats just under 300, which means performances are intimate. As well as the shows, the theatre serves as community centre for the new East Village neighbourhood, with courses for all ages and in a very broad choice of subjects like youth theatre, tai chi, pilates and even reggae choirs.
