Royal Automobile Club
Private Club in St James's
I have to agree with the previous review posted on 6th Jan 2011. This is a fabulous Club with so many excellent facilities. Members and staff alike are generally courteous, charming and welcoming - I guess some have their bad days, but I use both Clubhouses (Pall Mall and Epsom) a great deal and receive so much enjoyment from the Club.

Am surprised by the other review because in all the years I've been a member of this great club (since 2000) I've never found the staff unhelpful, unfriendly or rude.
Just the opposite in fact - staff at the Royal Automobile Club are the epitomy of good manners, attentiveness and gracious service.
The Royal Automobile Club is a private members club. There are three restaurants at the Pall Mall club house. The Great Gallery which is a gourmet cuisine restaurant with private dining in sumptuous surroundings with great chefs - some of the word’s leading chefs stop-by to occasionally cook there. Brooklands is a more wide ranging classic bistro style restaurant - ideal for pre or post theatre. The Long Bar serves excellent value faire at subsidised prices - for example an overly generous serving of Roast Beef and all the trimmings for under £10!
There’s also the Club Room and Terrace - one of the most lavish yet elegant rooms in London, which serves an excellent range of food and drink and a recommended afternoon tea.
Aside from the bar and retaurants, the Club has probably the best pool in London and certainly one of the best Turkish Baths in Europe, complimented by a state of the art gym, squash courts and a snooker room with 6 full sized tables and a full time snooker pro.
The RAC's superb country clubhouse Woodcote Park is near Epsome and styled along the lines of a country manner and has two 18 hole golf courses along with restaurants and extensive leisure facilities.
The RAC has reciprocal arrangements with some of the best private clubs around the world.
The Pall Mall clubhouse has a wide range of guest rooms and accommodation along with meeting rooms, bars, one of only 3 private post offices in the country and an excellent library.
Last but not least, it’s the members that make or brake any club and all the members I’ve met have been very decent likeable people.
If you’re lucky enough to set foot in the RAC, enjoy one of London’s sec
