The Pilgrim is a traditional English pub with a major difference - they serve a variety of Jamaican dishes including fish curry. They also have a jukebox and pool tables.

The Pilgrim in Kennington is an excellent bar. This bar is not a gay bar, as added in a previous comments! It is quite rare that you find such a good bar. In recent years, this bar was previously under bad management and everything about it was poor. However, the bar has had a "face lift". It is run by Jason, a proper landlord oozing charm. My friends and I had a free range steak last week and it was beautiful. For the area, this bar is by far the best! I avoid the Doghouse down the road because of the nutty manager and the White Hart is too drab and expensive. They boast a recently refurbished (and south facing) beer garden with lovely new parasols. Well worth a visit.

Myself and Louise visited The Pilgrim on Good Friday,2007 and had the best night. Was great to see our good mate Jason who looked after us the whole the night. We found the Pilgrim to be a very warm and friendly pub with a fantastic atmosphere and great staff. The food was exceptional. Will definately be visiting again with our fellas and friends for a guaranteed good night out in the near future.

I have managed to visit most pubs in the area now and have no doubt The Pilgrim is the place to be. The White Hart is seriously over priced, The Dog House belongs in Camden and the others i didnt feel safe in as the customers at the Bar were far from friendly and i didnt feel welcome. Jason & his crew know how pubs should be and i wont be using any other bar in the area from now on. The big irish guy knows how to make everyone who enters feel like the most important person in the world and its truly a sight to see when he wheels out the unique irish charm & wit. On St Patricks night he sang a 2 hour irish set and had the place rocking....what a legend. keep up the good work mate.

Well worth the visit the lunchtime menu was superb! New management doing a great job, and will definately be back to check out the renovations. Would have like to have met new owners to congratulate them in person. Eye candy staff!

Loved it, The decor, the lighting, the deep-fried potato based snacks at reasonable prices.

Worth the admission money (?) alone to see Jay sing, what a crooner!

Go Pilgrim!

Great place, really made to feel at home. Will definately come back time and time again.

Jay and James are a lovely couple and I wish all the happiness in the future.

The only thing this place needs is wraps on the menu...

One of the best English pubs I have visted.

Only moved to the area before xmas '05 and found myself the Pilgrim after checking out your site. They dont do Carribean Food as your site says as new owners have just taken over. What a brilliant place !!! Friendly & cool Staff (very cute too i might add!) and wicked food. Their Cocktail list takes a bit of beating.
Have your say
