Just for everyone's reference the number above belongs to an OAP (who gave up the title of Duke of Somerset many years ago). The number you need is 0207 680 9962.

Hey I am a local to Duke of Somerset and they are really nice bunch of people in there especially the ladies. Quality babes behind the bar and worth a frequent visit just to keep you alive. I recommend the Fosters at just £2.20 you can't go wrong. Jim Selby

Dave, the manager and his more than competent staff make you feel at home from the very second you walk through the doors of this unusually styled pub on the outskirts of the City of London. Who would have thought that a little oasis like this pub could be found nestling between Fenchurch Street and Aldgate. For those just walking past on there way home, it must appear strange to view so many people sitting outside in the ample sized (and partly covered/heated) terrace area, enjoying a relaxing after-work drink. Plenty of room to enjoy a cigarette without offending non-smokers inside, extremely reasonable prices for very well kept beers. The manager is Irish, so you would expect a decent Guinness, and that's exactly what you get 100%, and I drink a lot of that tipple, so should know.
Funky DJ takes to the stage on Friday night's, open mike sessions on Thursday's with a superb guitarist/singer and pals, regular charity quiz night's, great pub food, again at a reasonable price, and plenty of it, too.
Next time you are walking past, pop in to see what all the fuss is about, you may be surprised. Oh, and for the sports-nut, several big screen TV with SKY and Setanta available, not always with the sound blasting out too.
Enjoy, just as I have been for the past couple of years.
