I seldom use cabs in croydon but went out for the day with my mother who cant walk more than half a mile. She said she uses roadrunners frequently and they are very nice people. I used the app as I saw it on their facebook which is pretty cool.

As a long time customer of roadrunners, I would like to thank them for their service and timely manner in which they arrive at my home. I see some people have had problems with them in the past but that is contrast to my own experience with them. I always get different drivers throughout the week and still get a good experience.
I live near London so there are plenty of taxi places to choose. I mainly use roadrunners as they have been the best time keepers and I hate having to wait at my front door even for a minute.

This company seems to find it 'hard' to account for their mistakes. Either their fellow operators are all pally pally with one another in the office or they cannot be asked to take the measures needed to hear out a customer...
Supposedly all calls made to them are recorded however your operator, i'm afraid, cannot be bothered to listen to your now recorded call for fear of being in the wrong.
Who says 'we record all calls' not wanting to listen to yours made ?
Think twice before you book a taxi with them, especially during the Christmas period.

I have used Roadrunners for the airport many times and always had a good experience. That changed yesterday. I ordered a taxi for 6 people at 17.30. I was sent a confirmation text at 17.01 to say that the taxi was on its way. I had my 3 and 7 yr old sons with me. I called RR at 17.37 for an update and was told that they were 'very busy with top clients from whom they receive the most business'!! However, the man I spoke to assured me that a taxi would be with me in 15 min. Of course, no such taxi arrived. I got a cab from Western Cars which arrived in 10 mins and I won't be using RR again.
A driver dropped off my wife to her destination on Saturday, when trying to pay the driver he said he hasnt got any change and come back. This never happend so she has been to road runners 4 times this week to get hold of the driver with no avail. I have just been there & the customer service I received was shocking. The controller said that there was nothing he could do as they were subcontractors & if there was an issue with money they wouldn't deal with it "it's your problem" when asked what happens if he never returns? He repeated it was our problem.

I called Road Runners cab company to book a cab for New Years Eve on 30/12/13 and was quoted £18, I then called the cab company two more times on New Years Eve to confirm booking and check quoted price (which remained the same £18). When the cab arrived he was told the journey would be £35 by someone at the office, the man on the end of the phone was aggressive, rude and abusive towards me, telling me I was stupid to think it would be £18 and told the driver to kick me out. I have called and complained and a month on haven't heard back after the manager promised to get back to me.
I have always been a fan of Road Runners because they have so many drivers and I always get a taxi straight away.
However the office staff are rude and don't listen to the instructions. I always have to check the address on the car satnav as it is often wrong.
Tonight I booked a cab at 3:38, they said it would take 10 mins. 30 mins later, no cab. I called them and they had no recollection of the booking and wouldn't believe that I had made it. After asking if they would be able to get me a cab straight away or if I should go elsewhere, she hung up on me. No apologies for THEIR mistake.
We use this firm very frequently and have done for some years. In general they arrive very promptly and have been very helpful.
If I had to criticise anything it would be that sometimes one or two of the cars have been a bit smelly and I do object to music/radio playing when I don't want it on - but this is a minority of times, usually all is fine and happy to recommend.

This isn't my experience of Road Runners. I've used them for over 5 years for various runs to airports, stations and to get home from Croydon town centre. They're always on time, courteous and don't charge the earth. They even picked us up at 3.30am on the night of the riots, and were on time!

I was shocked at the service I received from Road Runner.
The first problem I encountered was no arrival of the 2 taxis I ordered. Once ringing up the company they explicitly told me I had given them the wrong address, even though they did not repeat my order once requested to ensure no mistakes could have arisen. I think this procedure should be used to minimize potential future problems.
The next problem involved ringing the taxi drivers correcting the address first given. Without causing a scene due to the mix up I was annoyed to receive angry feedback just reiterating I had first given a wrong address.
I rang the company again asking them the new expected time of the taxis. Being told 5 minutes it was concerning there was no arrival after 15.
The last problem occurred during payment for the taxis. A set price was given on the phone however, when arriving at the destination a higher price was asked.
All together the taxis were 35 minutes late, the drivers were rude and the expense was higher than first expected. For future encounters, I recommend the company ensures there is no discrepancy between quotes given on the phone and the requested price.
I will neither recommend nor use this company again for any journey.
