Receiving microsuction ear wax removal from a clearly inexperienced "audiologist" here made me develop hyperacusis and ear drum spasms, as well as constant ear pain and irritation. After I explained to her about my already existing tinnitus, she failed to inform me or even consider for a second that she could have removed my ear wax manually, without the loud noise of a suction machine inside my already sensitive ear.

Normal everyday noises now sound loud and intrusive. I am a musician and have had to give up playing piano because it irritates my ear so much now. I have been suffering for 2 months and don't see an end to my symptoms. I will regret putting my trust in these people for the rest of my life.

I've only just found this website, but what happened to me was a couple of years ago.

I had a complaint regarding my contact lenses and was speaking with Karen, who was the manager there. After a lengthy discussion, she said she would get back to me.

After 2 weeks, I heard nothing from her. I phoned the store and asked to be put through to Karen, but I was put through to Teresa, the supervisor. I had to explain AGAIN what happened as no notes were made on my file. Once I explained what happened, Teresa put it right, there and then! Why did it take Karen 2 weeks to do what Teresa did in 5 minutes? I've since been dealing with Teresa only as she will get things done. She is a credit to Specsavers. If anyone has any problems whatsoever, ask for Teresa!

Hi guuuuuuuys

Just want to let you know about an AMAAAAAAZING time I had in Specsavers Kingston!!!! I walked in to the store only to find the directors were ignoring me, turns out they were in the corner typing up a FAKE review and giving their store 10/10!!!!

The staff there were pretty amazing and are the most helpful people on Planet Earth, but they were treated in a very similar manner to the bloke in Full Metal Jacket who ends up going a bit mental.

I eventually got my specs after a wait of 14 years....my prescription had changed quite a lot in that time, however upon collection I was simply asked if I knew where to buy second hand tv's from and told I would adapt.

I have never been anywhere before that has worse customer service than Specsavers in Kingston.

They have caused me much distress from - putting the wrong prescription in my glasses - not believing me and telling me to give them a few weeks to get used to my new glasses! They set two accounts up under my name which caused all sorts of confusion - and still does for them. They have messed up my contact lense check up dates over 3 times now. They are always too busy and leave you waiting around in the contact lense waiting area for too long. It always takes them ages to understand what you actually need. Phoning them is a nightmare. They have ordered the wrong lenses for me, not contacted me when my lenses arrive. Sometimes they even forget to place my order. The opticians are actually good, but the rest of the staff are dismal.

I cancelled my direct debit with them because I could not take the frustrating service anymore. Avoid, pay a higher price and go to a better optometrist.

I have used Specsavers for years and years and always found them to be helpful and customer conscious. I have probably purchased about 8 pairs of specs from them and been happy every time, not sure where these other folk went, but all good for me! Michael M.

Ordered my spectacles on 24th, I was supposed to go a week later to pick them up, when I went they couldn't find the spectacles, after 10 minutes of searching they realized the order was not sent to the lab.
A few days later someone called me to go pick up my spectacles, all was ok until I left and since was sunny I decided to check the reaction lenses... good thing I did because one was brown the other one grey.Went back and they had to reorder them.
When I got home I called to fill in a complaint, there doesn't seem to be a complaint procedure in place and I was told that a manager will make sure to see me when I'll pick up my spectacles.
Today I picked them up and although the manager was 4 feet away from the desk, she didn't bother to come talk with me.
This was the first and the last time I will ever use Specsavers, I'd rather pay more and go somewhere where they know how to treat their customers.

I visited the Kinston branch on 06th Oct 2009 and ordered my daughter's lenses and after 2 weeks of no call from Specsavers, I visited the branch again and met their Assistant manager Karen who informed me that unfortunately the lenses had not been ordered by the sales advisor.There was no apology from Karen. I literally had to draw an apology. Since it was due to specsavers incompetence and ill trained staff that my daughter is still without lenses even today on 28th Oct. On 24th Oct my husband went back to see if they have received the lenses.He was told that the lenses had not been ordered I demanded to see the Director of the company as I had enough by this time and I had to wait over 20 minutes to see him who eventually found the lenses which were delivered but no one knew about them. Since my daughter is now studying in France and Guy who is company's director promised me to send it by the earliest post and email to my daughter. Unfortunately until today there is no email has been sent to my daughter or to me as he promised and she has not received the lenses as well.Awaiting a reply from Specsavers.....................
