Singer Sewing Centre

Full marks to The Singer Sewing Centre in Croydon. I have just collected my 1950s Singer which was suffering from a dodgy cable and some lost parts and needing some tlc. I have just given it a test drive and it is literally humming as it sews, it feels very happy, and has definitely benefited from the service. It doesn't cost the earth, but it sure makes a difference. I will definitely return to this shop when I need new needles etc, it is a joy!

I have visited this lovely shop in the past it is a aladdin's cave if you're a needlewoman everything you could wish for wonderful,! Robert repairs sewing machines (.not just Singers,) and what he doesn't know about them isn't worth knowing
He.came to the house and serviced three of my machines recently taking one away with him because it needs a part he bought it back last week all my machines are running beautifully now.
Good sewing machine repairers are very hard to find and Robert is the best I've ever known I can't recommend him highly enough and also the fact that he comes out. This service means an awful lot to me as I would never be able to get to Croydon now as I'm very disabled

Have just tried ringing the shop. for information and the call has been cut off twice which I believe think that they do not need the business what a shame.

I’ve used this shop for a number of years and have always found them to be helpful and knowledgable. Great little shop with a big variety of knitting and sewing accessories.

I took my sewing machine for a general service, and I am really happy with the service that was given. Not only did they service my machine but the gentleman offered to drop it off at my home, which I was deeply grateful for.
It isn't fun walking around with a sewing machine. So that was an added bonus.

I highly recommend this business, it is a shame that there are too few sewing and haberdashery left in Croydon. This business is worth the visit. I know I will be using them more often. Thank you

I was not sure what machine to buy. The shop owner was very polite and courteous , showing a variety of different machines.He was very helpful showed me how to use the machines and explained what would be best for my usage. There should be more smaller specialist shops with experts guiding you on what to buy to suit your needs at the right price of course, as there was some excellent offers on.

This is the best shop in Croydon to buy Singer sewing machines, wool, fabrics and clothing dyes. They also do repairs and offer free sewing lessons!

The shop is a little dated but if there was a local award for best customer service this place would win it hands down. Put it this way - I just took the time to sign-up to this site to leave this review and I would not do that for many these days!

Very knowledgeable and helpful with all my knitting queries. Nice to see a family run business now a days who you can actually go back to with questions about things, rather than being told they can't help you which is the usual response from some of the big supermarkets etc!
