So.. I don't ever post up rants, but something just happened which I was witness to that I cannot just ignore, or turn the other cheek to..

About half hour ago I was in this shop in Bakers Arms, along with another young boy, who may I add - was in there before me, no older than my son, 14-15.

The man behind the counter immediately served us first, leaving the young boy waiting, which I highlighted and told him to serve the kid first - Strange.

The kid was looking to buy a keyboard for his PC, the staff member then told the boy, clearly seeing that he had his card ready to pay - "no card payment, just cash"

No problem, the boy said he'd go to the cash machine & come back, as polite as anything. As he left, the male behind the counter smirked to me saying, "you know, we can't take card payments from these kind of people" clearly thinking that I was going to agree. So I questioned him asking what he meant? He then repeated it, "we can't take card payments from these kind of people you know", once again smirking but telling us that WE can pay by card.

I was actually disgusted. He quite clearly refused to take card payment from the boy, the reason being nothing more than the colour of his skin, but was more than willing to take card payment from me.

To his shock I told him that I thought he was a racist prick & shouldn't be judging his customers by the colour of their skin, whilst placing my items back down on the counter & walking out. He actually thought that I was going to be complicit to his horrible views.

My mum actually had to take the boy back into the shop & buy the computer keyboard for him as he said he really needed it.

Never in my life will I be going back in there. No room for this kind of prejudice shit in our area, kids trying to buy things in shops & being profiled for the colour of their skin. This shop does not deserve to prosper & will not prosper with my help!

Anyone who does shop in here, do what you need to do, but do not be blind to the racist ideologies behind the counter!

Owners were very racist to a young man wanting to pay, they tried to get me involved.

I told the shopkeeper that what he was doing was wrong and offered to pay for the item for the young man after the shop owner said he didn’t take card which he does as I paid by card.

Will not being going back.
