Silver Fish & Chips

Really overpriced. £3.50 for a small portion of chips and £1.69 for a can of coke. Portions are small and the chips were not that nice.
Shame to see the previous owners leave.

This wonderful place has recently changed hands and is now Silver fish & Chips. We are sad to see the original owners have left.
Tonight we ordered 2 Doner Kebabs and chips. The kebabs were dripping in oil. The pitta was swimming in oil in the paper. The chips were hard and soft mixed. They tasted like a chemical which is consistent with food that’s been fried in old oil that’s stale. Sadly we won’t be returning.

Having gone to this Kebab and Fish Takeaway for over a year. I can honestly say the best doner kebabs in London. Where the doner, is fresh, tasty and sweet. So much so, it is the only kebabs I will eat in London. A lovely friendly, well run family takeaway. with very high standards and cheap prices. Great food, simply the best. Thanks a million.

Mr Greek is a long-standing local institution - providing best quality Fish & Chips to the East Barnet side of Whetstone for as long as we've lived here - that's since 1987! Quality is always excellent and portions very generous. A few years ago the traditional Fish and Chip counter style was upgraded to install modern fittings and a seating area which brought in modern equipment and doubtless improved "Health and Safety" standards. The other welcome addition was the availability of Greek kebabs and salads freshly prepared in situ. This is Fish and Chips for the 21st century - clean, well-presented, and with 'extras', but rooted in the best traditions: friendly service from a family based staff, a strong and loyal local customer base, fresh and beautifully fried fish - and undoubtedly the best chips in the area! (...with enough in a portion to satisfy the very hungry!) You only need to walk past and the delightful aroma will pull you in!!
