Marlborough Service Station

In the interest of fairness to Marlborough Service Station and since it is impossible to delete or edit previous reviews on this site, I wanted to add an update to say that the garage have made concerted efforts to rectify the situation and to apologise for the misunderstanding of the work I wanted carried out on the van. They have mended the damaged door and carried out some additional work free of charge as a gesture of goodwill. Happy to report that they at least do care about their reputation enough to work hard to rectify the negative experience I had.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Left my VW camper T25 for a quick check-up before going on a long trip with strict instructions that I didn't have the money to spend too much on it so wanted to be kept up to date on costs. It had done a full service just 200 miles before so I honestly didn't expect it to cost much at all. Over 3 weeks later (for a job that should have taken 2 days!) and after me phoning literally every 2 days for an update and to check costs weren't going too high (every time told they don't know and only Peter could tell me the cost and he didn't once call me back), I finally get a call to collect the camper. I arrive and surprise surprise, I get handed a £730 bill - over double what I was expecting or could afford - with no warning whatsoever. No apology from Peter who just offered me a derisory discount for having taken nearly a month to deal with it. I also found a broken cupboard door and the back seat dismantled. The friendliest most efficient and obliging place I know. I highly recommend anyone to use them, even if you aren't local it's worth
the trip.

I happened upon this establishment by chance as they were working late on a Saturday, whereas others were closed and so, I took a chance on Marlborough Service Station. I described electrical faults diagnosed elsewhere a day earlier and was first impressed with Marlborough's thorough and considerate comms. Interestingly, they proceeded to fully complete repairs, avoiding unecessary and costly steps which had been recommended elsewhere. A straightforward policy of honesty with which I am entirely pleased.

Old school, thorough, friendly and excellent service from start to finish at an economical price.
