I asked the lady on the other side of the phone if she could put the music volume down a bit until we finish the booking and she said "My boss doesn't allow me", then I asked to speak to "The Boss" then, but, he made an excuse to not talk to me...music stayed extremely loud..After all is Tomato a hairdresser salon or a Night club?

Both him and my stylist made my visit one I shall definitely repeat, though something that disappointed me was the way he was treated by the people in charge who didn't seem to do anything.

I've been to tomato once and got a good hair cut from a guy in his mid 30's to 40 and it cost me £15 which was excellent value. That was episode one.
I then rebooked at the same time for 5 weeks later. The day before that booking i received a voicemail saying that the booking was cancelled and ring to rebook. This is where the problem started. I rang and there were no spaces for ages and the lady on the other end of the phone was less than helpful in helping me try to rearrange. Anyway this was painstakingly achieved.
On the day of the booking I couldn't quite remember what time i had booked, was it 11am or 11.30am, so without a text confirm being received (usually the case i have been assured) i rang tomato at 11.30am. No answer. I rang again at 9.45am no answer. And again at 10am, this time it was engaged.11.05 engaged, you get the jist. I decided to head down for the appointment at 11.30 and when i got there i was told my appointment was at 10am and that i was 30 minutes late. The australian lady on the desk told me i could rebook and that there was nothing she could do. No apology. I told her i had been trying to ring for the past hr and couldn't get through 'oh that's because i took the phone off the hook as there was something i had to do'. No apology. I then walked out. Once outside, thinking about it i decided to return 'can i speak tot he manager please' i said, 'i am the manager' her retort. 'i'm not very happy, i've had to rebook before, i couldnt confirm the booking and there has been no apology for taking the phone off the hook', 'oh right well you were 30 minutes late, i'm very sorry but there's nothing i can do'. I rebooked but am am in two minds over whether to attend.
Clearly tomato is very popular, however i suspect this is down to the cheap price/but decent value hair cuts and has absolutely nothing to do with customer service or customer loyalty which is q

Nice people and all but I asked for short at the sides with a parting and came out with some extreme Nathan Barley style undercut. I'd taken my glasses off while she was cutting, then when she was finished it was slicked down, so it wasn't until I got home I realised what a monstrosity it was. I looked like a total prat. I'm really angry because it was cut so close at the side and so long on the top now I've had to cut it really really short myself. It's not what I asked for and now there's little I can do about it. I have to walk around with a crew cut until it grows back. If you go here be sure to very slowly describe exactly what you want (as if you're talking to a toddler), watch them like a hawk and check carefully before you leave.

The trainee girl barked a few slightly awkward compliments about my haircut which I didn't believe because it looked ridiculous as well as boring (quite an accomplishment). There were built up stores of hair in the corners of the room and under the pipes (which I saw because I had to stare at that spot for so long). I asked if they could make it slightly less poofy (it was weirdly voluminous)and they told me to let it dry naturally at home and asked if I'd like some wax: I said yes, if they thought it was best, and then watched as they made my hair look like it hadn't been washed in two years, if I lived in the underground.
I'd say it was ok if I'd paid half of what I had, but ok is all it is: if you're nice.
