But I can do that, via forums, facebook, email. Dont need another thing cluttering it all up.

ps. not meaning to sound as narked as that could come across.

I think Twitter is best suited to those who get incredibly bored and have net access at work and/or those who have iphones. If I didn't have an iphone, I'd prob not use it.

Its ok, I didnt take it personally!

I just see it as a major fad right now, everyones got to have it, its the cool and in thing. And I dont see its worth, basically.

Twitter is quite interesting because i find it is a more open and social site than many of the others. You can find specific people who are talking about whatever it is you are interested in at that very moment, and join in.

Its also nice to have people follow you...bit of an ego boost :)

And now we find the real reason! Popularity contest! Just like Myspace used to be.

Not at all!

Myspace and Facebook is more for the people who know you following you. On Twitter, it's all strangers. I get rid of followers anyways, if they're clearly following to get a follow back or selling something.

Have met some intersting people via Twitter.

Though Twitter is also a vehicle for celebs to gush over each other, and it gets a bit annoying. The best 'celeb' by far to follow is Alexander Armstrong. He actually talks to you and isn't plugging stuff. A lovely guy.

i think its one of those things you have to get used to, i didnt get it when i joined, didnt even know what it was but joined out of curiosity. The same with facebook i joined because everyone talked about it and i didnt like it at first.
