Weeeee!!

I just had my first band practice! And it went well So exciting. Always wanted to be in a band.

We gots lots of people too, considering. Very lucky... especially as they are happy playing the kind of music I like :D

We gots vocals, guitars, bass, drums, trumpet and sax :D how coooool is that? We'll be playing Rock and souuuuul.

So far we gots some Bowie, some James Brown, Wilson Pickett, Marvin Gaye, Toots and the Maytals...

We gonna be fuuuuunky. There's two of us on lead vocals, too. We switch depending on the song :D

Hopefully I can advertise when we'll be doing gigs on here at a later date

What 'type' of genre is your band-Rock? Grunge? Emo? Country? Pop? Because if I have an idea of what 'type' of style your band plays it would help me come up with a handful of band names.

I loves a bit of Bowie, too. We're doing Sound and Vision.

Looks like we may be called The Moon Rats. Is an obscure play on the mome raths from Alice in Wonderland. Logic is eclectic band/eclectic book.

Well nearly a year has passed, band line-up has changed and we have a name.

Me band's called The Wottingers.

I've also uploaded some silly songs I wrote here - www.myspace.com/emistuff (including a new song about zombies).

Our first big gig is coming up - Saturday 8th May and we're the only band playing. Exciting times! The gig's at The Elm pub in Surbiton. There's probably a page for it on here...

We dropped the sax and have had to switch drummers cause the first dude moved awaaaaaay. However we have a fun funky-rock vibe going and I'm really enjoying it.

Great name, aren't the Wottingers the blue family from the Night Garden? My 3 year old is a big fan of it so we have to watch it every day!

Well it's almost been a year and this is the first I've ever heard of your band...! I wouldn't mind being in a band... I went to see my work mates perform last night, they were pretty good! Lead singer was a bit off pitch at times, but they were confident and they had catchy tunes. I'd love to learn how to play the guitar then do some session singing, acoustically. :biggrin:

The recording on your myspace page isn't all that great... couldn't you get into a studio?
