Seven of us went for dinner recently. Completely ignored by miserable, disinterested staff who looked like they didn't want to be there. Mixed starter would have been ok if it had been hotter. My main course (methi) was terrible - tasted like it had been stewing all day. Side orders etc just about ok. Papadums good. We go for a curry regularly about every six weeks - this restaurant will not be visited by us again any time soon.

My wife booked Deea for a birthday lunch for 10 people on a Thursday we arrived at 1.30 and left 4.30 I enquired what time they closed they said 2.30! at no time did they try and push us out and when I apologised to a waiter he said it was no problem and a pleasure. The meal was excellent.

To be avoided;

As soon as you sit down you receive the wrong type of attention. The waiters are pushy and more oriented to increasing your bill than customer service. Despite the many waiters we became invisible to the point they almost took our plates away before we received the first course. The food was mediocre at best; chewy, with an almost readymade microwave texture and taste. The bottled coke was flat and had all the signs of not being 'the real thing' which is most likely why the bottle hadn't been opened at the table. After declining the plethora of after meal sells; coffee and deserts, no thank you, no coffee, no thank you, desert... well you get the picture... after 20 mins we decided to just pay at the till where four waiters were chatting. I would struggle to believe that you could write a positive review on this restaurant but as its christmas i would say that the decor is nice....just don't eat anything.

The food is good but nothing out of the ordinary. The service is poor. Having been here a number of times, I think the waiting staff are a bit complacent. The restaurant does have a good reputation in the area but my recent experiences have been less than satisfactory. The waiting staff are generally slow, surly and make little effort. There are other equally good restaurants in the area where you can get an excellent meal for far less money so we will give Deea a miss in future.

i ate here with my family, august 2011. excellent food, terrible service.

one of the waiters had a real attitude problem. he mockingly questioned or refused our requests like a surly teenager. we asked to keep 1 starter plate to have with the mains and he had a right strop, saying he wouldn't clear any of the plates away! another, friendlier waiter cleared them away eventually. then the table was running out of room anyway and we were asking him to put certain plates in front of the person who ordered them, as is normal, to which his response was "well if you made some room you could move the plates yourself'! now, we're not fussy or prim people but that was just outrageous! we had to ask him to apologise so we could get on with the meal. he grudgingly did, but it was not sincere.

i also overheard him being aggressive to some takeaway customers that were waiting, so it wasn't just us.

we all agreed the food was excellent, i had very tasty king prawn poori and some lamb chops which you don't see very often. but i would have to say stay away if service means anything to you. i really hope the restaurant gets rid of this arrogant teenager of a waiter, as he is not doing the chefs any justice.

Deco modern and nice frontage.... rest is downhill from there :/

Appalling disgusting food- sludgy, puree like, bland, disgraceful prices for poor quality. Absolutely no semblance to asian food, no hint of aromatic spices or of anything palatable. The food ensured that I had a bloated stomach after :( .

We had chicken tikka masala (sludge, full of dessicated coconut bits that kept getting stuck in my teeth, tasteless) , Chicken methi ( sludgey, tasteless and greasy) brinjal bhagee(copious amount of onions, minimal brinjal evident) masala paneer(tasteless and the ubiquitous sludge again)

Waiters indifferent,impatient and inattentive.

Tables too close to each other, and waiter didn't even bother pulling the table away to allow space for us to be seated. We did that.

Rushed us to finish our first course because he wanted to serve the main course- he even had the cheek to reach for my starter plate to take it away whilst I was still eating !

I took friends there saying that it was a prize winning restaurant-- I was very embarassed with food and service.

Give this restaurant a wide berth ! awful food and exorbitant prices !

Lovely fresh tasting varied food, a big step up from stereotypical pre-cooked 'indian' restaurant fare. Friendly staff and some nice big tables for family meals if you book in advance. Our favourite meal out in this area.

One of the best 'curry' places in SW London; lovely environment, gentle attentive service and great food with generous portions.

Great for 'girlie' nights out.

Review based on many visits ands if you ask nicely they deliver to you home!

Deea is a lovely looking modern restaurant with nice decor and up to date layout. I have to be honest however I have not had such a poor meal in a while. Firstly our table for two was so close to the adjacent tables we felt immediately uncomfortable that we could hear every word of our neighbours conversation and they ours. We had slightly weak poppadoms to start with which collapsed a little too easily when you tried to put anything on.
I often have a Dhansak so I had Lamb Dhansak or should I say Lamb sludge!! It was so thick It was more like a paste than sauce. It's supposed to be a spicey dish but had little if any spice or even flavour at all. The worst thing though was the Lamb, I had to force feed my partner the meat as It just didn't taste of anything at all and was really like stewing steak that had had all its flavour removed. Dark on the outside and pink in the middle although it was cooked to death!
The Pilau rice was pretty plain, pasty yellow with no visible spices and lacking any real aroma which is the sign of a good pilau. I never leave food but had to this time. I told the waiter and he said, accusingly well you did order the Dhansak. My partner ate his but later said he didn't enjoy it. The worst thing though was the bloating afterwards, we were both feeling uncomfortable and swollen that night and the whole next day. I had one wine with my meal and he had 2 beers so not so sure it was the drink. I wouldn't ever go back but suggest it may have been a one off. Others seem to like it.

I have been using the restaurant since it was opened and can say that the food, service and atmosphere is superb, I have lived in the area all my life and have been to nearly all the general restaurants and this one is one of the best. Also the location is good as it is a 2 min walk from the river and within a short stroll of buses to Kingston and Richmond.

It's a good idea to book apart form lunch times as they are popular and can be very busy.

There is a small amount of free 1 hour limited parking within the road to the flank of the restaurant, ok for lunch!

Value for money is to order the combi starter swapping the chicken wings for chicken tikka, ad some rice and with jeera pompadoms it is quite enough for 2. together with a drink it will set you back no more than approx £17, and thats for 2! all in.

Also try the chicken tikka methi

Have a great time

We have visited Deea in Kigston a number of times and the food and service have been excellent each time.
The staff are always extremely polite and helpful and the decor is modern and clean.
We highly recommend it.
