Bradley's
British Restaurant in Hampstead & West Hampstead
Tried this - because next door's ARABESQUE was CLOSED on a Saturday evening.
Pleasant, welcoming, reasonable pre-theatre 2 course meal for 2 persons (with two glasses of chardonnay once I'd reminded the waiter...)
at a cost of £39.00 which includes an 'optional' 12.5% service charge.
Pleasant. Yes, that's about it.
3rd time unlucky! After 2 very enjoyable visits to Bradleys, we took our son and his family for a celebration evening on Tuesday Feb. 2nd.
Two of our main courses were sent back since they were barely luke-warm, so three people ate guiltily while two waited, then vice-versa. No word of apology. My friendly-meant comment about a moment in the micro-wave was met with a frosty 'we don't use a micro-wave HERE'. Service was surly, so I was not pleased at 'optional'service charge of 12.5% ie. almost £20.
Previously good choice of vegetarian options is reduced.
Advise go home for after-dinner coffee: tea or coffee is £3.25--+12.5% each.
Sorry, Bradleys, but I felt embarrassed in front of my family.
This is easily the best local restaurant - always welcoming whether it's an extended supper alone thanks to forgotten front door keys, or celebration a la carte or good value pre-theatre or sunday lunch. Very personal service, wine list selected with care and a reliable and varied franco-british menu. And seems to please passing trade from the nearby Marriott too.
