London's most beautiful dishes
Top grub, looking pretty
Beauty is indeed in the eye of the beholder, but whatever your ideal is Tramshed’sIndian rock chicken with stuffing and chips is a show-stopper. A whole chicken arrives on the table upright on a skewer to be carved by the diners, covered in crispy skin and dripping with gravy for you to mop up your fries with.
London's best restaurants with art
Pretty walls and pretty plates
This chicken and steak eatery by Mark Hix is as much a gallery as it is a restaurant. Hix commissioned famous British artists including Damien Hirst and Sarah Lucas to provide their own subversive take on the themed menu. Hirst's famous cow in formaldehyde hangs in an unmissable spot in the centre of the dining room. He's reversioned it especially for Tramshed by putting a cockerel on its back.

Large-scale recycling
When entrepreneurial chef and restaurant owner Mark Hix took over this former tram shed (yes, the clue is in the title) he transformed it into a too-hip-for-school venue. He focused the menu on chicken and steak eatery, threw in some specially commissioned Damien Hirst art and voila, Tramshed was birthed.
