The service at Myung Ga is fine. Very attentive, in fact. However, the food is dreadful. The famous barbeque meats are brought to your table frozen--and then cooked that way, so they semi-boil rather than grill! The portions are not overly generous, but that's a good thing, as many of the dishes were ordered were frankly distasteful and difficult to finish, even in tiny portions. Our most repulsive dish was a watery, greyish, flavour-free broth in which floated pre-cooked dumplings, over-boiled sliced beef, and rubbery egg. While we are not experts in Korean cuisine, our companions, both well familiar with Korean food (in Korea), disliked the kimchi, which they felt had not been made quite correctly. Our companions also commented that their choices, all ordered from the 'authentic' dishes, feature foods that tasted precooked and reheated, as well as having the spices 'added on' rather than 'cooked in'. Last, this place is expensive, especially when you consider that after you leave, you have to eat again elsewhere.
Myung Ga is my favorite Korean restaurant in London Soho. I've taken all of my friends (both fellow Koreans and non-Koreans) to this place and have yet to find anyone who didn't love it. The best thing about Myung Ga is its banchan (side dishes)One can always tell the authenticity of a Korean restaurant by its banchan, and Myung Ga's banchan tastes absolutely home-made. The seafood pancake appetizer (haemul pajun) is excellent and big enough to feed four people. And the grilled mackerel alone is worth going back for! The spicy tofu stews induce a feeling of profound contentment. The complimentary plum tea finishes off the meal beautifully. Delicious!(the picture is old one, myungga.co.uk)

I have been passed by this restaurant for long time.
But I did not recognise.
The other day I want to takeaway something to eat.
So I just poped in with thinking fried rice.
But the manager recommended me to sit in and fried rice and spicy chicken
It was beautiful and fantastic.
He recommended a spicy prawn and fied noodle for next time.
I'd like to try this definitely.
Good price, nice food, wonderful service.
I found very good Korean restaurant in London.
I have just passed by this restaurant but I didn't recognise it.
but I wanted to looking for a Korean restaurant and bought Timeout. This magazine choose this restaurant as a critics's choice. I went there and was surprised.
I have never had this kind of Korean food in my life.
Could you get some seafood pancake and BBQ(chicken and pork) and fried Udon with veg. and spicy prawn. Awesome!!!!!
I'd like to recommand it as one of the best Korean restaurants in London.
This is a nice restaurant with friendly service and good food. Like most korean restaurants it is not amongst the cheapest nights out, but it is amongst the tastier and more enjoyable ones!
Have your say
