Hear up-and-coming bands at this music and food complex in Kings Cross

Live gigs coming out of your ears... or into them.

Where: Lafayette

Throughout the nineties and noughties, a relatively barren area of King's Cross was home to a mighty triumvirate of clubs: The Cross, The Key and Canvas (formerly Bagleys). These have since gone to rave heaven to make way for the usual mix of redevelopment and gentrification, and in their place a  music venue has sprung from the ashes that is owned by Mumford and Sons' Ben Lovett.

With a capacity for 600 people, the venue hosts live gigs during the week and clubnights at weekends, and while a lot of the names are still fairly unknown, we have spied LadyHawke and Menendez Bros on the upcoming schedule. Lafayette is located within Goods Yard, a larger complex with two eateries serving Japanese food and burgers, and American saloon-style bars.
