Watch the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra

The RPO at home.
This must try is connected to: Cadogan Hall

Cadogan Hall in Chelsea is the home of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the first London orchestra to have a permanent residence. Built in 1907, it's a grand old church-like building, due to its past as a former Church of Christ Scientist church.

In the 1990s the always entrepreneurial Mohamed Al-Fayed bought the property with the intention of converting it into a luxury home (what else?), but its listed status meant he couldn't get planning permission. Ergo another extremely wealthy man, the Earl of Cadogan, decided to purchase it and the current music hall was born.

The 950-capacity venue doesn't purely host classical musicians as its schedule includes jazz performances, film screenings and even the odd tribute act - Rumours of Fleetwood Mac are playing in 2023.
