Help feed the homeless during Ramadan

Help out if you can

Where: The Ramadan Tent Project

We're all aware of Ramadan - it's the holy month when Muslims fast from dawn to dusk. But how many us know the actual principles behind it? Among them are self-discipline and empathy with the people who face starvation because of poverty. With this in mind the Ramadan Tent Project offer free food to the homeless whether Muslim or non-Muslim, from their set-up on Malet Street Gardens near Russell Square. Although they're a faith-based non-profit, all are welcome to eat here for the entire month after the sun has set. The initiative is run by students from the nearby School of Oriental and African studies, and they rely on volunteers to help dish out the meals.
