This International Yoga Day (21st June) the Royal Albert Hall has announced an extended season of its popular Yoga with Live Music series.

The series offers yogis tuition from expert instructors, accompanied by live musicians, including cellists, harpists and classical guitarists – a welcome change from whale music played on a tinny speaker.

The announcement follows research from the Royal Albert Hall, which reveals 74% of young adults say they use music as a remedy to the stress and anxiety of everyday life.

The Yoga with Live Music sessions are hosted in the iconic venue’s Elgar Room, one of the many intimate spaces beyond the Hall’s main stage.

Lucy Noble, Artistic Director at the Royal Albert Hall said: “The goal of both music and yoga is to create a positive shift in our mental state and both help people channel emotions, so it’s great to see people enjoying these sessions. We have seen people of all ages and abilities attending the sessions in the Elgar Room and look forward to seeing more new faces as the series continues.”

The next session in the series will take place on 30th June and involves creative sequencing from Power yoga, Rocket and Vinyasa, music will be provided by multi-skilled guitarist, Jonny Owens.
