After an outstanding London debut at Soho Theatre and a successful total sell-out season at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, German comedian Michael Mittermeier returns to Soho Theatre with A German on Safari, his first full-length English stand-up show.
In Swahili the word ‘safari’ means ‘journey’ and in A German on Safari Michael takes us on a journey through his two greatest passions – comedy and travelling the world experiencing other cultures. Let’s face it, the world is a very strange place to visit but who better to do so than a man whose ancestors were dumb enough to try to rule it? So come along to Soho Theatre and find out if – this time around – a German can actually capture our language and our laughter in just one hour.

Reviews
‘He demolishes cultural stereotypes… peppered with uproarious one-liners that conclusively prove Mittermeier’s overriding theory: the term ‘german comedian’ is not an oxymoron.’ ★★★★ Metro
‘Manifestly quick-witted… teasingly intelligent… quite wilkomen, I’d say.’ ★★★★ Telegraph
‘Michael is very funny and German. If you don’t believe either of these things – go and check him out.’ Eddie Izzard
‘Charismatic and full of energy… at times my face hurt from laughing so much… an outstanding example of observational comedy, insightful and exuberant.’
★★★★★ Edinburgh Festivals Magazine
