With inspiration for the tea selection taken from Elizabeth II’s 60 years as Queen, John Lewis’s head chef has created a beautiful selection including Dubonnet soaked fruit cake, delicious mini scones, colourful three tier macaroons and delicate finger sandwiches.
The Oxford Street store has also joined forces with chef and food writer Gizzi Erskine, who has created a contemporary version of coronation chicken, which will be served as part of the Coronation Afternoon Tea - six decades after the original coronation chicken recipe was invented for the Queen’s coronation banquet in 1953. the tea is served in the Brasserie, on the 3rd floor.
