Jonzi D: Lyrikal Fearta

Sadler’s Wells Associate Artist Jonzi D presents a triple bill including his acclaimed solo The Letter as well as a new work, continuing three decades as a hip hop dance theatre pioneer.

The Letter explores the responses to Jonzi being offered an MBE. Using choreopoetic language, he paints a picture of “stunning rhythmical clarity” (The Stage) through the eyes of an animated cast of characters.

Newly commissioned piece Broken Lineage is an exciting collaboration with Ivan Blackstock (BirdGang Dance Company). It explores the broken lineage between the old and new skool generations, bringing Jonzi’s unique perspective to evolving social issues along with his trademark wit and style.
