Bulbs more than repay the time spent planting them by bursting into flower just when your garden needs a boost. Join us at the Garden Museum for this very special day with bulb expert Christine Skelmersdale and botanical artist and tulip specialist Diana Everett.

Christine Skelmersdale, owner of Broadleigh Gardens nursery and display gardens, will share her expert knowledge on how to use different bulbs creatively throughout the year, including sun, shade, grass and pots. With 40 years’ experience growing and showing bulbs, Christine has won numerous gold medals, exhibiting at 200 RHS flower shows. She is the author of A Gardener’s Guide to Bulbs.

After a delicious lunch with wine, artist Diana Everett will take us on a journey of botanical delights, focusing on one of the most popular bulbs: the tulip.

Sharing her great knowledge and understanding of the genus, she will reveal the discoveries made on her extensive travels to find and paint as many different tulips in the wild as possible. These have been beautifully recorded in her book The Genus Tulipa: Tulips of the World.

Copies of both authors' books will be available for sale and there will be an opportunity to buy (and take home with you on the day) a wide range of high quality bulbs from award-winning flower bulb specialist Jacques Amand.
