Borough Market’s gardener Veronica Perez Diaz and regular demonstration chef and allotmenteer, Celia Brooks will host a special Chelsea Fringe Festival workshop in the Market Hall on planting and tending edible crops in an urban environment, with tips on transforming your harvest into delicious healthy dishes for all the family.
Under Veronica’s expert guidance, give your kitchen garden a kick start with a selection of free ethically produced herb and vegetable seeds to take home and plant up. Then, when Celia takes over in the demonstration kitchen at 1pm, discover how to cook fabulous fresh dishes using edibles harvested from her allotment, supplemented by Market produce reflecting the seed varieties used in the planting workshop.
Cooking and growing tips, tastings and recipes will be freely available and Veronica will continue planting up seeds and helping with gardeners’ questions until Celia’s demonstration finishes at 2pm.
