WAR HAS COME. WHAT YOU KNOW, IT IS NO MORE.

Join Unmasked Theatre on our inaugural tour as we present a new interpretation of Euripedes’ ‘The Trojan Women.’ Set in an England devastated by nuclear fallout, ‘The Trojan Women’ explores the deconstruction of a society when society as we know it has crumbled. Water is rationed, warfare has taken the men, and the BBC has ceased broadcasting. In a refugee camp outside of Kent, a group of women await their fate. Amongst them, an aged and dethroned queen grapples with her sense of responsibility, a princess struggles with motherhood and mourns the death of her husband, and a young royal whose early warnings were dismissed slowly goes mad in the face of the unknown and frightening future. The women are waiting, but for what? And what happens when we are together but bereft of the pillars of society which hide our raw humanity?

Unmasked Theatre is a new community theatre company based in Kent and West Sussex, with a focus on modernised stage adaptations of classical literature. We are committed to creating accessible, high-quality cultural theatre for the south-east by providing enriching audience experiences alongside offering opportunities for talented young performers. Our aim is to provide a platform for actors from all backgrounds to develop their skills and experience theatre production on a professional scale as we tour Kent, Sussex, and London, culminating this year in the Camden Fringe.
