Prepare to get your Berlin on – Berliner Pilsner and Curzon Artificial Eye have partnered to present The Berliner Sessions, a series of film screenings that bring a taste of Berlin’s world-renowned nightlife to clubs and cinemas around the UK, launching on Wednesday 30th March with a special preview at the Bussey Building in Peckham. The Berliner Sessions will then tour London, taking up a residency for one night only at select cinemas including Curzon Soho, Hackney Picturehouse and Ritzy, Brixton.
Victoria, shot in one single, unbroken take and embodying the vibrant culture of the German capital, was the winner of the Silver Bear for Outstanding Artistic Contribution for Cinematography at the 65th Berlin International Film Festival, and will open in cinemas around the UK from Friday 1st April. Aided by a booming techno soundtrack by German composer Nils Frahm, Victoria is a breathless, visceral thrill-ride of a film and a celebration of all things Berlin. Supported by Berliner Pilsner, a stalwart of Berlin culture since 1963, The Berliner Sessions promise a unique insight into one of the world’s most exciting cities.
The launch at the Bussey Building on 30th March will treat guests to a screening of Victoria, DJ sets and a pop-up record store, delicious traditional currywurst from Herman Ze German, plus free Berliner Pilsner for all ticket holders at the bar. The Berliner Sessions will then continue at Curzon Soho, Hackney Picturehouse and Ritzy Picturehouse, Brixton during Victoria’s opening weekend in cinemas, with free Berliner Pilsner for ticketholders, DJ sets, photoautomats and more.
