Wray & Nephew is taking over Bussey Rooftop Bar for jerk BBQ competition, DJs playing Jamaican vibes and film screening.

Wray’s Jerk Fest is a 9-hour long open-air feast of Jamaican culture at The Bussey Rooftop Bar, Peckham, hosted by Wray & Nephew White Overproof Rum.

The main ingredients are a jerk BBQ competition between six of London’s finest jerk specialists which is judged by the crowd; nine DJs serving up music of Jamaican origin or influence; a screening of a cult Jamaican film; a live graffiti mural; and the all-important Wray & Nephew bar serving up tots of rum and pitchers of Reggae Rum Punch. Guests can also test their drink-making skills in the Free Pour challenge and Reggae Rum Punch Relay.

Wray & Nephew is Jamaica’s number-one rum and an iconic part of the fabric of Jamaican culture. Wray’s Jerk Fest will bring Londoners a taste of the authentic Jamaican experience and show why the full-bodied white rum is so ingrained in everyday life on the island particularly when it comes to jerk BBQs and music.

The six jerk competitors are: Fish, Wings & Tings, Mama’s Jerk, Cottons Rhum Shack, White Men Can’t Jerk, Jerk Night and Rudie’s.
The nine DJs spinning Jamaican vibes are: King Yoof, Trevor Sax, King Tubby’s, Adam Prescott, Daddy Nature, Unit 137 Showcase, Real Roots, Mr Chris and Honeuln.

The live graffiti mural will be created by Will Barras.
Wray’s Jerk Fest will be hosted by a Master of Ceremonies.

The epic setting of the fourth-floor Bussey Rooftop bar in Peckham, two minutes walk from Peckham Rye Station, will be transformed into a colourful corner of Jamaica for the event. The bar side of the roof will host live DJs, a live graffiti mural and drinks, including the Free Pour challenge and Rum Punch Relay to test your drink-making skills. The cinema side will feature the jerk competition during the day, the evening screening and a bar.
