From 27th August to 5th September, the art installation Borealis will be shining over the Old Royal Naval College. Inspired by the Northern Lights, the installation will create an artificial aurora in London.

Come along to the Royal Observatory Greenwich on Saturday 28th August to hear from the artist behind the Borealis installation, Dan Acher, as well as a panel of astronomers, aurora astrophotographers and judges from the Astronomy Photographer of the Year competition. With their unique backgrounds and perspectives, the panel will discuss aurorae from art to photography and even aurorae on other planets in our solar system.

The event lasts from 7-8pm in the Peter Harrison Planetarium at the Royal Observatory Greenwich. Afterwards, the audience can take a short walk from Greenwich Park to the Old Royal Naval College to check out the Borealis installation themselves and get a glimpse of an aurora over London.
