Patricia Volk's Cornucopia

Cornucopia, Canary Wharf’s new and highly anticipated art exhibition, launches on Monday 18th April and is expected to draw visitors to the Wharf throughout its occupancy in the lobby of the iconic One Canada Square.

Cornucopia is a free exhibit of works by British abstract sculptor, ceramicist and painter Patricia Volk, curated by Jacquiline Creswell, and is open to the public until Friday 10th June 2022. Visitors will find the expansive lobby of One Canada Square transformed into a lively, vivacious and uplifting environment with an abundance of vibrant colours and shapes.

Typical of Patricia Volk’s highly original abstract style, the colourful ceramic structures reflect relationships between human beings. In a carefully curated yet playful arrangement of artworks, strength is combined with fragility and stability with a surprising precariousness to reflect the complexities and challenges we face in life.

Comprising over 40 sculptures which span three decades of work, Cornucopia includes a number of pieces that have never before been exhibited, each a unique and individual work of art.

Patricia is a Royal West of England Academician and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Sculptors. Since 2008 she has exhibited her dynamic sculptures in private, national and international galleries and museums. Famous collectors of her work include writer Anthony Horowitz and politician Lord Carrington.

The exhibition joins Canary Wharf’s growing portfolio of free to enjoy artwork including London’s largest collection of outdoor public art, where 110 pieces can be found dotted around the Estate. Round the corner from the lobby is Adam’s Plaza Bridge where visitors will find Camille Walala: Captivated by Colour, and those heading to nearby Bank Street will find Yinka Ilori’s colourful basketful court, while the various parks play host to a range of impressive metalworks by Helaine Blumenfeld OBE.

Guests looking to enjoy a bite to eat can head to one of hundreds of bars,restaurants and cafes at Canary Wharf including the new Hawksmoor, Caravan, Seoul Bird, Marugame Udon, Gallio and Six by Nico.
