Do you want to be a fashion designer?
Learn the fashion design process from research to finished garment. Working in small scale, you will be inspired by the collections of the Fashion and Textile Museum to research and create your own look, and learn how to reproduce garments in miniature.
Week 1: Design development
Research fashion history
Look at vintage garments to understand textiles and construction
Create a sketchbook
Develop designs
Look at blocks and trace off a pattern
Week 2: Garment construction
Make your pattern in scale
Cut your pattern
Construct a miniature garment
Learn how to present your design
Style and photograph your work with a mini-photoshoot
