This park shares its name with the area it inhabits and the local football team, also known as QPR. The park has 12 hectares of green space, and has been open to the public since 1887. As well as tennis courts there are more quaint sporting facilities like a petanque pitch and a pitch-and-putt course. There is a charge for these but no need to book in advance. Children are catered for with a playground, paddling area and a pets’ corner. The charity that looks after the park has been careful to introduce wild grass and hedgerows, which has encouraged the bat and bird population to flourish. This has made Queen’s Park something of a green oasis in the middle of a verybuilt up area.
