This one of the oldest restaurant in the Bricklane area, 17 years ago you would be lucky to get a seat here!

Came back 2022 and the area had changed so much.

Few of the staff are still there in Preem and it was great to see them and have a chat ......

Great food and great service

My friend booked us a table here one Thursday evening and was told on the phone they accepted the Taste London card. Initially I thought the place looked run down and pretty dingy but my friend assured me the chef here had 5 stars so I tried to turn a blind eye. The food took a while to turn up but the majority of it was ok. Apart from a hair I found in the bombay potatos - I had a feeling they wouldn't be interested if I'd told them, in hindsight, I was probably right. When we came to pay for the meal, they claimed they had no knowledge of the Taste London card, they didn't accept it, but they did only if we had booked a table. We argued we had booked a table earlier and my friend quoted practically every word the manager on the phone had said but he claimed no knowledge of the call. Our booking wasn't written in the book either which was suspicious (and rather convenient for them). In the end, there were 3 of the male waiters/staff surrounding our table which was very intimidating as they were behaving in an increasingly angry way. We argued they were still advertised on the Taste London website and they said they'd stopped accepting that card a long time ago. If this was the case, they should have honoured our booking as they were still on the website. The so-called "manager" was rude and as if to finish the conversation, he just walked away. Sadly, we weren't sure of our rights, so we paid up and decided to make sure that Taste London were informed of their appalling service. We had such a good night up until that point. What disgusting treatment we received. Whatever happened to the customer always being right. It's not as if we were trying to pull a quick one. I would advise anyone to steer clear of this place.

Our experience here was appalling. Were seated right next to the bathrooms, where the constantly slamming door wafted air freshener and other smells directly across our table, service was slow and did not bring what we ordered.

The lunch "specials" were the blandest most unappetizing curries we had ever seen, and they were served to us at room temperature. The rice looked about a day old, as did the side salad with the appetizers. We didn't stick around for the "third course" of tea. I am writing this the day after dining and feeling uncharacteristically ill -- a sensation that began a few hours after our "meal".

This is a place is just a real disgrace, Brick Lane has some wonderful restaurants with great lunch specials, this is possibly the worst food I have had in Britain. Please do yourself a favour and AVOID!
