The Tate Modern sucks balls lol

Though that video sounds kind of funny...

there was a sign before you walked in saying sexually explicit scenes and one of the films was a woman rubbing chocolate sauce on her body but the weird guy dancing... that was disturbing, i cant even get it out of my head it freaked me out so much :|

I can look at some paintings from Picasso and Monet but not a man dancing naked :-? :-? :-? i don't see that as art.

i haven't been to the Tate Modern for ages! I like the V&A and the British Muesum. :)

the v&a is my fave museum :D

and of course the national gallery and the portrait gallery is quite good too.

The British Museum is my fave. And The Imperial War Museum and The Natural History Museum, except for the room with the big whale. Lol

i guess art is like beauty its in the eye of the beholder so as a matter of fact anything can be art its just a name for something we can appreciate?

oh look at us talking about art! lol

Well I have one simple rule:

If it needs explaining, its pointless.

So if someone has to tell me that the button on the wall (to reference someone else's post!) means something about world peace, its a waste of time. Art for me should be clearly about something to begin with.

i am sorry to disagree with u elliex - but art is not in the eye of the beholder.

beauty is in the eye of the beholder. art is only beautiful if it actually depicts something beautiful - like a scene or a person or something along those lines.

rubbish like a glass with water called an oak tree is not beauty in the eye of the beholder - its lack of eyes to see whats actually there.

art smells :)

prudly brought to u by more lack of sleep

sorry elliex dont hate me please :(

I like art, but I like proper art. Something I can learn from as an artist and has an actual meaning, than an irrelevant meaning that you need explaining and still will never get it.

There's having something explained and going 'Ohhh right, yeah that makes sense' and then that glass of water oak tree thing where someone tell you what it means and you say 'ooooook... what?!'

yeh for sure that makes total sense. if all art was how it should be - ie sensible than there would be no quams with it all.

unfortunately - we're all not so lucky
